Our Team

Souvik Saha, Co-Founder.

Souvik Saha is a seasoned development professional and visionary leader with over a decade of experience in youth empowerment, gender justice, and climate action. He is the founder of People for Change and Jamshedpur Queer Circle (JQC)—two pioneering organizations based in Jharkhand, India, working at the grassroots level to uplift the lives of adolescents, youth, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially from tribal and underserved communities.

Through People for Change, Souvik has led impactful programs across East and West Singhbhum that address the intersectionality of gender, climate, and well-being. His work emphasizes mental health, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), gender equity, and climate resilience. Flagship initiatives such as the Youth Climate Leadership Program, Climate Education in Schools, and Eco-Friendly Livelihoods for Transgender Communities reflect his commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.

With Jamshedpur Queer Circle, Souvik has built one of Jharkhand’s first queer-led safe spaces, offering mental health support, peer-led storytelling, leadership development, and community mobilization. JQC has reached thousands of individuals through workshops, theatre-based campaigns, dialogue circles, and public advocacy to reduce stigma and foster acceptance for LGBTQIA+ lives.

Souvik also plays a key leadership role in national collectives like ComMutiny, VartaLeap, and TAAC Hub Ranchi. He has been recognized through fellowships such as Changelooms, Teach For India, and LEAD India. His work is rooted in the belief that every young person—regardless of identity—deserves dignity, opportunities, and the freedom to thrive.
